
The Museum of Flight joins the global celebration of peace and space exploration on April 9 with the family-focused Yuri’s Day. Activities will include family workshops, VR walks on Mars, planetarium shows and virtual tours of the space shuttle trainer. Star Wars-costumed members of the Kamino Saber Guild will roam the galleries, and exhibitors include the Mars Society and the Seattle Area LEGO® Users Group. Activities will be 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and free with Museum admission. Costumes are encouraged!
At 6 p.m. the spaceflight celebration transforms into the 21+ Yuri’s Night 2022 dance party with electronic music DJs, SoundDown Seattle Silent Disco, VR experiences, plus an eclectic mix of drinks and food trucks.
Yuri’s Night is a world-wide celebration of human spaceflight, honoring the April 12 anniversaries of Yuri Gagarin becoming the first person in orbit, and the space shuttle’s first orbital flight.
