SBA Seattle District Honors Small Businesses and Supportive Community at Annual Awards Ceremony

Richard Brinton of BBD International accepts the award for Exporter of the Year

 

Jessica Atkinson of Sweet Frostings Blissful Bakeshop in Spokane was awarded 2022 Young Entrepreneur of the Year and was honored in an additional ceremony by SBA Branch Manager Joel Nania and Spokane Mayor Nadine Woodward on Friday, May 6.

The top award for 2022 Washington Small Business Person of the Year was given to Efrem Fesaha of Boon Boona Coffee in Renton, WA. The award was co-presented by District Director Kerrie Hurd and SBA Pacific Northwest Regional Administrator Mike Fong, as Efrem was also honored as Pacific Northwest Region Small Business Person of the year, a recognition that made him one of 10 top finalists nationwide for National Small Business Person of the Year. 

Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell and Regional Administrator Mike Fong visited Boon Boona Coffee the day after the event, to honor Efrem and Boon Boona Coffee for their achievements as a business as well as for the positive impact they have had in their community.
