Police are investigating after a man was shot in the foot late Monday morning in the Uptown neighborhood.
Just before 11:30 AM, a 33-year-old man limped into a business near 1st Avenue and Mercer Street and said he’d been shot in the foot.
The man told officers he was standing at the corner of Mercer Street and Queen Anne Avenue North when a man in a white hatchback station wagon drove past him. The driver reportedly circled the block and then shot at the victim, striking him in the foot.
The victim implied that he may know the identity of the suspect, but declined to provide that information to police. A private ambulance transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition.
Police spoke to witnesses at the scene, who said the victim had been involved in an altercation with a man about 15 minutes before the shooting.
