Homicide detectives are investigating after a man was shot and killed in an encampment in the 4700 block of 7th Avenue Northeast Sunday afternoon.

People began to call 911 around 12:30 pm to report shots fired near the intersection of 7th Avenue Northeast and Northeast 47th Street. Officers arrived and found a man with a suspected gunshot wound. Seattle Fire Department Medics attempted to provide aid but the victim died at the scene.

Homicide detectives are now investigating and asking anyone with information to call the tip line at (206)233-5000.
