April 6, 2021 – EIDL limit increases to $500,000.
Tomorrow, the SBA will increase the maximum amount small businesses and nonprofit organizations can borrow through the COVID-19 Economic Injury Disaster Loan (EIDL) program from 6 months of economic injury with a maximum loan amount of $150,000 to up to 24 months of economic injury with a maximum loan amount of $500,000.
The SBA will reach out directly this week via email to current borrowers and provide details about how businesses can request an increase. All communication from the SBA will be sent from an official government email account ending with @sba.gov.
April 8, 2021 – Shuttered Venue Operators Grant portal opens for applications.
The SBA will begin accepting applications for the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant (SVOG) this Thursday. Read regularly updated FAQs, watch video tutorials, and find other helpful information for preparing your application on the SVOG page of the SBA website.
Late April 2021 – Community Navigator Pilot funding opportunity announcement will be issued.
The American Rescue Plan Act established the Community Navigator pilot program to provide $100 million in grants to eligible organizations — such as private nonprofit organizations, resource partners, states, tribes, and units of local government — to support efforts improving access to COVID-19 pandemic programs, particularly to women-owned, veteran-owned and socially and economically-disadvantaged small businesses.
May 31, 2021 – New extended PPP application deadline.
The deadline for the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) has been extended to May 31. Borrowers can apply for a PPP loan with one of more than 5,400 lenders nationwide who have participated in the PPP. Technical assistance is also available through the SBA Resource Partner Network.
